How I Combat Dry Skin

Something that you may not know about me is that I have eczema, which is a chronic skin condition where your skin is itchy and dry, and can become rough and inflamed. My skin easily gets extremely dry, especially in the wintertime. I’ve tried pretty much every moisturizer, skin oil, body butters, lotion or cream out there, and I feel like I finally found a combination of products that work for my skin type schweiz-libido.com.

For FACE: I grew up in Canada, so I am very much used to brutal winters. For years, I’ve used L’Occitane’s Ultra Rich Comforting Cream as my daily/nightly moisturizer. In the summertime, I switch to the Light Comforting Cream, which has 5% shea butter content (as opposed to 25% in the Ultra Rich version). Recently, I’ve fallen in love with facial oils because I feel like my skin absorbs them better. A common complaint with oils is that they can leave your skin feeling really greasy, but again, my skin is so dry that I don’t have this problem at all. The Divine Youth Oil is my current obsession, and definitely one of the best facial oils on the market. Although I don’t’ need its anti-aging properties, I love it because I haven’t experienced a single breakout since I started using it. It contains Immortelle essential oil, which gives you an instant glow, and it has a very subtle sunflower scent. You only need a few drops of this stuff, and I warm it up between my fingers before pressing it onto my face after washing up with my Clarisonic and the Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser.

For BODY: My philosophy is that proper moisture retention starts in the shower. I start off with a regular body wash (I use a Blue Fig and Orange Blossom one from Dove), and then I use this Almond Shower Oil, which helps hydrate and nourish my skin. Sometimes I’ll skip the regular body wash and go straight to the shower oil, since it also has cleansing properties. Right after I get out of the shower, I follow up with the Almond Supple Skin Oil, a super light body oil that won’t leave your skin feeling greasy at all. It’s from the same collection as the shower oil, and both of them smell incredible. This is my night time routine since I shower right before I go to bed. In the mornings, I use the Ultra Rich Body Cream since I don’t like to use a body oil right before I get dressed. It has the signature shea butter scent that L’Occitane products are known for, and it’s definitely what I associate with the brand the most.

All of their products are intensely nourishing and moisturizing, and they make such a difference in my skincare routine! If you use and love their products on a continuous basis, I recommend enrolling in the auto-replenishment program, so that you get free-shipping and free samples of new products. I’ve been a loyal fan for years now and definitely cannot live without this brand, try them out and let me know your thoughts! 🙂
